Terrain Crate Vines

Vines from one of the Mantic Terrain Crates. Mantic does not seem to be selling these miniatures anymore, it came in a pack with some fences and barricades. These were one of the many inspirations for this blog as I was having trouble finding a picture of these painted that was not Mantic’s pictures. The Mantic pictures are nice, but I was hoping for some inspiration about basing them or alternative color schemes.

The material is a soft plastic, and I used my standard Bones preparatory procedure. The rows of vines are mounted on a thick plasticcard base. I had to redo the flock on one of the bases. I switched to using a Woodland Scenics blended turf as my previous Army Painter Moss Green flock is out of print. For best results, the blended turf requires the glue to thinned with water before flocking. There is also some Woodland Scenics static grass covering some of the gaps in the blended turf.

I am hoping to use these in a Pathfinder game, or to supplement my 40k terrain.
