Well it is the the end of an edition… again for 40k. In this day and age, edition changes are just like clockwork on regularly scheduled intervals. All told, I managed to get in fifteen games of tenth edition. While not a lot, all those were within a year’s time.
Some of the games were using the fan made horde rules, which were far more unpredictable then the standard missions. The unpredicticality added a lot more to the usual 40k churn.
All in all, I expect I will not miss tenth edition. The mechanism of counting up in command points was not worth losing the force organization charts. The assault phase did not work well, and GW legends things far to quickly for me to happy about it. Unfortuantely, all 40k editions have weaknesses and some have strengths. Hopefuly, another Space Marine game will pull my local gaming group back in, and there will be opportunies for some eleventh edition games.
